"Kraid" (also known as "Brinstar Depths" in the Super Smash Bros. series) is a track composed by Hirokazu Tanaka for Metroid. It's a 3/4 song that plays, as its name suggests, in the hideout of the boss Kraid.
Like the rest of the game's soundtrack, it was later remixed in the remake Metroid: Zero Mission. The song also received remixes in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
The track later became a small meme on the internet, involving bait-and-switch remixes in a similar way to "Megalovania".[1]
