"Above Ground BGM" is a frequently ripped track from the Super Mario franchise.

Summary

"Above Ground BGM" is used for many levels in Super Mario Bros. 3, similarly to other Super Mario tracks such as "Ground Theme". The track is typically used for levels that fit the theme of a given world's map. In a series first, it is sometimes substituted for a secondary "Athletic" theme, titled "Athletic BGM" in this case.

The song was rearranged for Super Mario All-Stars alongside many other NES Mario tracks.

Super Smash Bros. Melee features a track called "Super Mario Bros. 3". The track is primarily a remix of "Above Ground BGM", with one segment instead arranging "Grass Land" (also from SMB3).

Super Mario Maker and its sequels use this song for Ground levels in the SMB3 game style. Super Mario Maker 2 also uses it for SMB3 Desert and Jungle levels, despite all other game styles featuring unique music for said level themes.
