SiIvaGunner Wiki:Policies and guidelines

This page is an overview of the role of the policies and guidelines (wiki rules) of the SiIvaGunner Wiki.

They are developed based on existing best practices, and should be modified as necessary to meet consensus of what the community thinks is best. They are not necessary to read in order to edit, but should be followed to maintain consistency and resolve disputes.

Role

Policies comprise strict rules that should always be followed, and wiki staff may enforce them through temporary blocks and bans (permanent blocks).

Guidelines are sets of best practices supported by consensus; while they should normally be followed, there may be exceptions.

Enforcement and applicability

All users should try to follow policies and guidelines where they apply, including on non-article pages and the Discord server where appropriate. Enforcement will escalate in intensity; discussion/persuasion will be followed by blocks if ineffective, and indefinite blocks / bans may be considered as a last resort.

Creation and modification

At present, the construction of policies and guidelines is mainly handled by the wiki’s administrators and content moderators. If there is a change you want to make, you can suggest it in the wiki’s Discord server.
