The advertised track is mashed up with "Unknown from M.E." from Sonic Adventure. At 0:33, when "Unknown from M.E." fades in, the visuals change with the following:

  • Love Live! School idol festival logo in the center with "& Knuckles" from the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles logo under it.
  • Image from the Love Live! School idol project episode "Come True! Our Dreams!" where Maki is at her piano.
  • Image from the Sonic Boom episode "My Fair Sticksy" where Knuckles is at a piano.
  • Image from the Love Live! School idol project episode "Aim for Victory" where Maki talks about not wanting the chimney to get dirty for Santa Claus.
  • Image from the Sonic X episode "Cracking Knuckles" where Knuckles talks about how he thought Eggman wanted to live in peace.

At 2:49, the advertised track switches to "Fight For My Own Way ...Boss: Event" from Sonic Adventure, with Knuckles saying "Give it your best shot!" and "Oh no" in his boss fight playing over several times, before it abruptly switches back to the advertised track at 3:03.

The overall joke is on how Knuckles the Echidna and Maki Nishikino have similar personalities in terms of being gullible, main color associated with them, purple eye color, and and piano-playing abilities (though this applies to Knuckles in Sonic Boom).

Additionally, the catchphrase references the rip being uploaded for Maki Nishikino's birthday, although was uploaded on April 18 relative to the PST timezone because it was April 19 in Japan's timezone.

Trivia

  • This would be the start and mark the first appearance of the Maki is Knuckles meme.
  • The rip being uploaded for Maki Nishikino's birthday was later noted in "[The SilvaGunner Timeline: A Summary of Events]", although it is described like a channel event instead of referencing the rip specifically. Maki's birthday is however one of the few things to be celebrated multiple times on SiIvaGunner, with some of those being proper channel events.
  • On April 20, Triple-Q made a Tumblr post stating Maki is "essentially the human female version of Knuckles the Echidna", along with art of Maki dressed like Knuckles, specifically Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric.[1] The phrase was reiterated in the rip's Volume 3 & Knigra release.
  • Triple-Q would later reupload the video on his own channel as "Knuckles the Echidna is Maki Nishikino's fursona and here's DEFINITIVE PROOF", which was included on his Sonic: 25 Years of Quality EP. The main difference being that the visuals only are of the visual change and feature the art of Maki dressed like Knuckles of the aforementioned Tumblr post.
