Mike: Hello folks, welcome to another exciting match! I'm here with my good friend James. How are you doing, James? James: I'm having a lot of fun, Mike! And how could you not have fun with such an exciting match-up? Mike: Right you are, James! Steve as Cloud versus Logan as Captain Falcon. Two flashy characters and two of our most talented players at that. Just look at them go! James: I have to say, Mike, so far this is the strangest neutral game I've ever seen. Mike: Can't say I've seen anything quite like it myself! But pay attention to those inputs, these guys are pros. James: So, Mike, how do we feel about the current match up? Mike: Well, James, as I'm sure you're aware Captain Falcon is at a bit of a disadvantage here. Certainly the underdog choice. James: Of course, of course. Though we've seen this Falcon player get out of worse! Mike: Right, and he has the home stage advantage, ha ha. James: Right, Big Blue, what a breathtaking stage even in its Battlefield form. Mike: A great song choice as well, I've always been a big fan of the SNES F-Zero. James: An iconic soundtrack for an iconic game! I've been playing a lot of F-Zero 99 recently myself. Mike: Looks like we got a taunt from Steve here as he waits for Logan to show us his moves. James: Very respectful gameplay, and I expect nothing less from these players. James: And with that they're finally off, and with an impressive parry from Falcon right off the bat! Mike: And look at that jab right into up-smash! Simple but effective, and more than makes up for the 7% Falcon lost at the start. Mike: Falcon does miss the follow-up, giving Cloud here a chance to breath but it seems like it won't stay that way for long. James: Looks like Cloud's meter here is almost full, thanks in part to that lengthy neutral game at the start. Mike: Right you are, Falcon is gonna have to play it pretty safe here... Mike: And there it is, yikes! One devastating down special from Cloud and Falcon is out of here! James: Still, with Cloud at such high percentage, Falcon could easily come back from this. Mike: And here comes Falcon now with another juggle attempt, and... shoot! That's another whiffed up special. James: Cloud is only one good hit away from death, so Falcon doesn't have to do much here to secure the KO. Shockingly, Cloud is still kicking after that up special, but not for long, look at that edge guard! Mike: Down to three stocks on both sides with 5 minutes left on the clock, but still anyone's game! Unfortunately, Cloud wasn't able to get any extra damage in before losing that stock so it's back to square one for both of them. James: And what a shocking play from Falcon with his signature neutral special, the Falcon Punch! A move rarely seen in competitive, but it's like Mike said earlier it's a flashy move for a flashy character! Mike: Cloud is certainly going to be sorry he let Falcon get away with that one, as Falcon takes a massive percentage lead here. Cloud's finally able to close the gap with that side special. James: Cloud's meter is full once again, looks like he should be able to make a comeback here if he can just secure a hit... Mike: Once again, there's Cloud with the incredible D.I. skill! Avoided a K.O. to that up smash, and again to the up special as well, just barely not enough to take Cloud down! James: Unfortunately, D.I. can only take you so far at such a high percentage, Falcon finally takes the lead! Expect nothing less from the best, let's see if he can keep the advantage... James: Back to neutral, but this time our players aren't leaving anything to chance as they continue to go blow for blow. Cloud's really fishing for that juggle, probably hoping to K.O. Falcon over the top of the stage. Mike: By the way, James, any plans for after the tournament? Thinking I may head back to the Gaylord for a drink. James: Eh, I've never been a fan of hotel whiskey. Mike: Well, I know a few other bars in the area if you're interested. In the meantime, looks like Steve's gambit finally paid off with an impressive up smash into the top blast zone! James: Yep, and with that limit breaking side special Cloud is really starting to catch up. Mike: Is it going to be enough, though? We can see Cloud is starting to panic a bit here, as he starts charging a smash attack and commits to it, a perfect opening for Falcon who comes in guns blazing with a down special. James: Even then, Cloud is able to close the distance a bit with a well timed side special, nicely done... And check out that up tilt! That could have easily been a trade but watch Falcon go flying! Mike: And there's that trade, a little later than expected. These two are neck and neck! Who will take the next stock? Mike: A very scary neutral for both players, and especially for Falcon now that Cloud's limit is back. If Falcon can't manage to K.O. Cloud soon... James: What a shockingly risky play from Falcon! He got a little too greedy with that neutral special, and that gave Cloud an easy opening to use that limit break, but can he keep this lead? James: No he cannot! Captain Falcon coming in clutch with that forward smash, and getting a little cheeky with another taunt, ha ha! Mike: Ha ha, maybe a little too cheeky! Look at that immediate punish. Still, Falcon seems pretty confident in his ability to take this home. James: I'm getting a little nervous for him now, Mike. Just look at that damage from Cloud. Mike: It's not over yet, James! It's still anyone's game. Mike: Nice edge guard from Falcon there. Cloud really gave that to him. James: Both players seem to be a bit confident in themselves, almost carelessly so. Never underestimate your opponent, folks! Mike: Another excellent limit break from Cloud! That one just barely landed, check out that massive hit-box. James: ...Now, Falcon has been getting very greedy with these attempted neutral specials, and I think Cloud is starting to get wise as well. Watch him keep his distance, just trying to deal as much chip damage as possible. Mike: Right, Captain Falcon depends very heavily on melee attacks, so having a projectile works extremely well in Cloud's favor here. Look at that forward smash! James: At this percentage, it's just a matter of time before Cloud gets in a strong enough hit. Can Falcon come back from this? Mike: It's not looking good, James. With the way Falcon keeps fishing for the Falcon Punch finisher, Cloud just needs to get one clean smash attack in and... James: There it is! The finishing blow from Cloud! That's the game, folks! Mike: What an exciting match, I was on the edge of my seat! Thank you all for joining us here today. Again, I'm Mike and this is James, it's been a pleasure commentating the match for you.
