Joke
At 0:07, the melody is partially changed to "Meet the Flintstones". It loops over at 0:49.
History
Unusually for a normal high quality rip, it was announced before its official upload. This happened during a brief segment of "SiIva Direct 4.1.2019". In the segment, the following was said of the rip:
- Grand Dad is making a surprise comeback!
- It's true! Soon, we'll be uploading the unreleased Beta Mix of "Waluigi Pinball" from Mario Kart DS, and I hear that the motif of a certain special hilarious rock might make an appearance. I'm sure it will be a funny time for us all.
- Look forward to when "Waluigi Pinball (Beta Mix) - Mario Kart DS" is uploaded on April 7th, 2019.
This was then recapped in the News Wave spoof, where Spawn Wave said the following:
- Then, the Direct stepped away from the tournament for a minute to talk a bit about a video that is going to be uploaded for "Waluigi Pinball" on April 7th. Now, this appears to be a return to the Grand Dad meme, so I'll be taking a look and keeping an eye out April 7th for this video.
April 7, 2019, the upload date announced for this rip, turned out to be Funny 7 Day, an event dedicated to rips just like this one: "(Beta Mix)" in the title, and the only joke being "Meet the Flintstones".
Years later, the rip was mentioned in "SiIva Direct 8.29.2023", in a segment announcing the rip "Waluigi Pinball - Super Smash Bros. Brawl" in a similar fashion to how this rip was announced.
