patience.

18:37 TurretBot

until we decide the event ended on February 9th this is still an event source

18:40 Arthur10123

eeeeeeehhhhhhh wait a little

Forwarded: It does not matter whether Season Mine is an event or a season when determining if any of its commonly-used sources are memes. The uploads are still themed like a seasonal event (akin to something like Halloween or Christmas events), so the usages of Astronomia, Thick of It, Burning Desires, The Mine Song, etc. must have the fact that they are sources explicitly allowed during a period of limited options for jokes/vgm to use taken into acccount. The fact that they ARE allowed is in of itself notable, however, and must also be taken into account when considering meme status. In addition, I think relative frequency is a very important thing to use for this discussion. Burning Desires has been used noticably faster than most of the other explicitly allowed sources (for example, we only have gotten 3 The Lorax rips) and this should be taken into account.

18:41 CorbCreates

I agree that we wait, though

18:41 Arthur10123

see that right there is why I'm still mixed on not calling this an event

18:42 Notascryptic

I think we should wait.

18:42 Brunocoolgamers

i am gonna be honest even if its technically an event

18:42 Brunocoolgamers

this has lasted for 3 weeks

18:42 Stump-7

tbf i definitely should have waited to propose this until after season mine presumably ends yeah

18:42 Brunocoolgamers

thats signifcantly more notable than you avrage 1 day event source

Arthur10123

see that right there is why I'm still mixed on not calling this an event

18:43 Arthur10123

Stingy is not being like a regular main host where he's upload random unrelated rips outside of events. he's uploading rips according to a sourcelist, one that is growing every day but is still a list.

Stump-7

tbf i definitely should have waited to propose this until after season mine presumably ends yeah

18:43 Stump-7

but i think discussion on the topic is a good thing, so

18:45 CorbCreates

Even if this is an event, this is not an "event" by our normal standards of an event. We sould take into account relative frequency versus other joke options for determining meme status.

18:45 Arthur10123

I agree

18:46 Arthur10123

like u said, Burning Desires has been uploaded with more frequency than other sources, so that gives it support for considering it a meme should we propose it one day, for example

18:47 CorbCreates

A source being claimed by stingy is in of itself notable for meme considerations. Although "The Mine Song" does not exactly get this advantage

18:47 Notascryptic

I mean a lot of the claims are just stuff from the era where the mine song was a popular internet meme

18:48 CorbCreates

hmm, this is true

18:48 CorbCreates

another thing to take into account

18:49 Arthur10123

half of them are like that, but the other half just seems like things the rippers like

18:49 Stump-7

Burning Desires had two uses before Season Mine and eleven during Season Mine as of now https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0A7nUaCnpJXzCe5Fw8UszPqeM869Qwe8

18:49 CorbCreates

yeah its still too early

18:51 Arthur10123

yeah

18:51 Samanthamk

event source as of now

18:53 Stump-7

I'd be willing to have this thread be closed/reproposed at a later date

19:34 FunniiXD

nah its a meme

19:34 FunniiXD

do you guys really think its never gonna be used past this event of course it will be

19:35 CorbCreates

its not an event so

19:35 Eden342

idk im fine with this

FunniiXD

do you guys really think its never gonna be used past this event of course it will be

19:36 CorbCreates

also this is not good logic we should only cover things that are valid memes not will be valid memes

19:36 FunniiXD

but it should be

19:36 FunniiXD

kinda obvious

19:36 FunniiXD

and it is

19:37 TurretBot

it will probably get used like 20 times in season 10 and 14 of those will be event i mean meme medley rips

19:37 TurretBot

and then they will throw the flp in the vault forever

19:38 Stump-7

i do see how the usage of it past season mine will just be next to none tbh

19:38 TurretBot

clearly it wasnt liked enough within the team to carry the entire season i mean event i mean meme by itself

19:39 Stump-7

?

19:39 FunniiXD

yeah in like a year

19:39 Stump-7

I apologize - I may be misunderstanding your intent Turret

19:40 TurretBot

as in they could have not done the stingy claiming things gimmick if they liked the mine song more

19:40 Stump-7

That is true

19:40 Stump-7

But at the same time

19:40 Stump-7

The Mine Song is still being included by and large within the claimed sources

19:40 Mick the Squirrel

complainsplaining

Mick the Squirrel

complainsplaining

19:41 Notascryptic

just say comsplaining

Stump-7

The Mine Song is still being included by and large within the claimed sources

19:41 Stump-7

ie. the Burning Desires rip that came out a bit ago

19:49 TurretBot

neigh! whinny!

19:49 TurretBot

the reactions on the post are beautiful

19:50 Stump-7

ye

TurretBot

neigh! whinny!

19:53 Mick the Squirrel

is this meant to be pomni stating her approval

02:49 CYLITM

Wait longer as it's just an event source right now

03:30 Mobbz.Co

mine song had very little uses prior to the current event, just because silva decided to milk it as a whole channel event prior to its most latest use 2 months ago doesn't automatically give it meme status.

03:31 CorbCreates

all of these people calling Season Mine an event......

03:32 CorbCreates

smh...

03:32 Mobbz.Co

its just silva team glazing stingy for no reason

WP:TOOSOON, and even if the "event"/"season" is over, I bet this won't be a recurring meme unlike WANO or something, and there seemed to be an established convention that recurring event songs are not memes.

TL;DR:

do you guys really think its never gonna be used past this event of course it will be

nah
