The Nostalgia Critic is a character portrayed by Doug Walker from Channel Awesome. He first appeared on the SiIvaGunner channel on April 1, 2018 in "You are filled with announcementation." He was the channel host for the Nostalgia Critic Takeover.

SiIvaGunner takeover

In 2018, from April 9 to April 15, the SiIvaGunner channel was taken over by the Nostalgia Critic after he defeated Inspector Gadget during his takeover. The Critic's takeover played off the theme of nostalgia by theming uploads to nostalgia from SiIvaGunner's past, with reuploads and remasters of old rips, rips referencing old rips, and rips with archived Silva memes, formats, and styles, including "Meet the Flintstones", "Snow halation", Loud Nigra, blue balls rips, and off-key or unsynced rips.

Cinnabon incident

According to a post by Tumblr user methylbenzene, and apparently confirmed by a post on the Youmacon forums, Doug Walker was once at a convention when he saw a cinnamon roll that, unbeknownst to him, had been frosted using a Bad Dragon dildo, and went "Hey! Free Cinnabon!" and ate it. This story spread to such a degree that SiIvaGunner referenced it a few times in materials relating to the Nostalgia Critic takeover. In the takeover's profile image, a cinnamon roll is placed on the table next to the critic, while in the album art for Inspector Gunner 2 With Critic, the Critic is holding a Cinnabon box.
