Big Chungus refers to a picture taken from the Looney Tunes cartoon "Wabbit Twouble", where the character Bugs Bunny appears overweight. It is also a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.

Overview

Big Chungus is a meme involving an image of a fat Bugs Bunny from the Merrie Melodies cartoon "Wabbit Twouble". In the short, Bugs played pranks on an overweight Elmer Fudd and at one point changed his form to imitate Fudd. During 2018, Bugs' image was combined with the name "Big Chungus", and became especially popular in ironic memes on Reddit, which would eventually associate it with a fictional PlayStation 4 game based on the character. The character's popularity led to several songs and fanworks based on the meme.

The meme was eventually acknowledged by Warner Bros, making a cameo in Space Jam 2: A New Legacy, and being released as a playable character in Looney Tunes World of Mayhem during April Fools 2022.

Rips

Big Chungus has appeared in several rips since its initial spread, including references to the original cartoon, as well as various fanworks and songs composed around the character. The meme made occasional appearances during season 4 and became more prominent from October 2019 onwards, with several of the rips featuring Big Chungus using various sources related to the character in the form of medley rips.

The first rip to feature what would become Big Chungus was "7 Grand Dad Fusion Collab", uploaded on September 11, 2017, where the image associated with the meme appears at 55:37. However, this was long before the association between Fat Bugs Bunny and Big Chungus.

The fake games Big Chungus and Chungusronpa were used to upload rips related to Big Chungus during the leadup to the King for Another Day Tournament.

Endigo

"BIG CHUNGUS | Official Main Theme" is a song by Swedish YouTuber Endigo released on December 29, 2018. It notably samples "Sins of the Father" from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. On the SiIvaGunner channel, the song is the most frequently used song related to Big Chungus, often appearing in mashups and melody changes.

CG5

"Big Chungus (song)" is a song by CG5 released on December 28, 2018. It is also one of the most frequently used Big Chungus-related songs on the channel, being mainly used in mashups along with other related tracks, although not as frequently as the songs by Endigo and The Slopster. The first rip featuring the song, "Play a Mini-Game! (SECAM Version) - Mario Party" is notably the first rip using a fansong of the character.

The Slopster

"Big Chungus" is a song by The Slopster released on January 10, 2019 and is the only song by the artist to date. The track is also one of the most frequently used Big Chungus-related songs on the channel. The Slopster also contributed one of the bumpers featured in "JET SET RADIO - 24/7 FUNKY FRESH BEATS FROM TOKYO-TO" and "Bumper Reel - Jet Set Radio Evolution".

One of the samples used in the song, known as "NYR2_128_JHN_4BAR_Syrup.wav" by Monster Sounds has been used in some rips due to the popularity of the song on the channel.

"😂BILLIE EILISH PARODY😂" is a comedy skit by Tony Zaret released on October 4, 2019 as part of his Big Chungus-based sketch series. The video also features a parody of "Havana" by Camila Cabello based on Big Chungus. The skit has been referenced in various rips on the channel, usually via the use of "Havana" or the "Chungus" voice clip. The song also received a remix titled "Ooh Nah Nah - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day" during the King for Another Day Tournament.

Tony Zaret also voiced Big Chungus in the high quality audio dramas "Woodyana Stones: Raider Made of Lost Bark" and "Curse of the Fallen Angel", which also reference "😂BILLIE EILISH PARODY😂".

In addition to his appearances in rips, Big Chungus has appeared prominently in various media on the channel:

In SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament, Big Chungus appears as a character alongside Ugandan Knuckles and Crash Woah as part of the Cool Meme Team, a fake contestant team based on "dead memes". The team had several arrangements during the tournament, as well as appearances on the MOJO!! and the honor of being the "winners" of the event. Cool Meme Team also made a cameo during the events of the SiIvaGunner All-Star Nuclear Winter Festival, as one of the bunker refugees.

In "Woodyana Stones: Raider Made of Lost Bark", Big Chungus steals the rips that Woodyana and D.Va were looking for, however he trips and accidentally collapses the temple where they were, after the fall, Big Chungus chases the adventurers like "a giant boulder from the movies".

In the film presented during the SiIvaGunner All-Star Summer Festival 2021: Legends of the Western Sunset, Big Chungus is part of the Tune Squad, a group of medicine men that Redwood wants to kill in exchange for their bounties. The group escapes before a confrontation, and they alert the local sheriffs to arrest Redwood.

In "Curse of the Fallen Angel", Big Chungus works at Burger King, he attends to the orders of Wood Man and Takane Shijou before they begin the search for the cursed ones with "Yoshiko Tsushima". During Act 3, Big Chungus finds the real Yoshiko Tsushima tied up in the b*throom and together they save the rest of the gang in the final battle against Lady in Act 5.

In "Wood Man's Halloween House Party (ft. David S. Pumpkins)", Big Chungus is one of the guests at Wood Man and David S. Pumpkins' party, unlike other guests, he stays after Dr. Willy arrives and has a "Bible study" with the rest of the group before Willy enters his room.

One of the possible timelines in "Story Mode - Mr Rental: The Video Game" includes Mr Own chasing and killing the Big Chungus from the Looney Tunes world for being a Mashup (or failing in the process).
