"anouncement.wmv" is a high quality announcement video for the album GiIvaSunner's HighestQuality Video Game Rips Volume 2.

Content

The video is a spoof 2000s-era YouTube tutorials, using various clichés of such videos from this period:

  • Using the recording program Unregistered HyperCam 2, including the watermark visible on the top left.
  • Playing songs commonly used/associated with such tutorials in this era.
  • Using the default Notepad from Windows for commentary.
  • Uploading a long, unedited cut of nothing happening and slow typing.
  • Limiting the video quality to 480p (a restriction of YouTube at the time) as well as an aspect ratio more commonly found in this era.
  • Using Windows XP as the OS and Internet Explorer as the browser.

The tutorial begins with GiIvaSunner opening notepad and typing about how to download the new album. He explains that first "u got to open google". After opening up Internet Explorer at the MSN homepage, GiIvaSunner begins typing but then stops. At 1:33, GiIvaSunner's screensaver appears, which is Comic Sans text reading "High Quality Rips". At 1:44, GiIvaSunner returns and continues typing, saying "my mom called me for dinner and last time she beat me..." He then continues, saying "you should type in this address into ur google" GiIvaSunner then types out various random characters out on the URL. At 3:58, he stops and then tries to go to the page, however takes him to a non-existent page. He tries some refreshes however does nothing.

Originally, the thumbnail for the video used the "broken thumbnail" image used when a video's thumbnail doesn't work properly or if a video is taken down. At a later date, possibly November 2016,[2] the thumbnail was replaced with a picture of Wheelie Rider Kirby, referencing a meta meme from the SiIvaGunner team, referred to as "vrum".[3]
